I LOVED the art, but I thought the story needed to be a bit stronger. I was intrigued with the Gods, and wanted to know more about them. There was some pacing issues--I was confused in some bits--but OVERALL I find this to have fantastic potential. I want to know what happens when the Gods finally find a mortal worthy of their powers!!

the art looks really good, nice use of perspective and angles,it looked good in general. The style reminded me a little that from Full metal alchemist (the anime). about the story, i expected something different by reading the title, but it wasn't a bad surprise either, a store that gives powers or wishes to normal people's not something new, but the fact that the guy didn't automatically wished for ruling the world was interesting, it was funny to see how he used his powers. In my opinion, i liked more the rainman character than the other two, i think they need more developement because, i assume theyr'e the main characters.

Wow I really loved it,can't wait for the finished thing, I would buy it :)

Great! Keep up the good work. c:

So this is what a RSoM manga looks like? Its good. It would be pretty much imposible for me to win if thats what it looks like but I am willing to give it a go.

04.24.2009 12:00 AM

SO CLASSIC FASHION.

04.14.2009 12:00 AM

I wouldn't mind reading more at all. The artwork is pretty much right on the dot and the story line is interesting ^^. Keep up the good work!

03.30.2009 12:00 AM

Awesome art but the storyline is nothing new.

02.16.2009 12:00 AM

I love the concept of being able to be play God. Hope this one makes it.

02.13.2009 12:00 AM

the art is good, but not my style. i really dig the story line though. this could be good. pacing was a bit fast, as someone before me said.

01.04.2009 12:00 AM

the art is good... but the storyline and script....not so much

10.02.2008 12:00 AM

Um, corn much? It's quite corny and cliched. However, the art - it's very nicely done. Even though a few un-proportional areas here and there, the screen tone, black, thick and thin lines were applied nicely and just right. I like the fact you explore on camera angles. The pacing, in my opinion, is just going a bit too fast, try to slow down a bit. It is hard to say if it's good or bad in this chapter so I can't say much.

09.14.2008 12:00 AM

omg most awesome. art, story, paneling and toning. this manga rox!

09.04.2008 12:00 AM

it was good...liked it.... but i love the theme...want to be a(God) for a day...it is pretty sweet...love it!!!

08.26.2008 12:00 AM

It's a really good manga I like how you design the characters as well as the background you took a lot of time on it.Can you add me?

08.24.2008 12:00 AM

Good potential. I think the individual stories need to be a little stronger than this one. Good concept, however. The reader probably needs more background on the god powers.

08.24.2008 12:00 AM

I want to read more!!!

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

seriously i wanna keep reading.

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

the art it´s pretty bad, and the story seems a little childish and just bad, maybe it will be a good story if they change the reason of why they give them the powers and work a lot more on the main characters but i don´t think it my work

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

eh it was ok but i really think this shouldnt be made into anything...it seems to shallow fo a story line.....im thinking it would get old rpetty fast consitering its already getting old for me.

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

I enjoyed it. The art was decent, the story was good. A bit confusing in certain places. Also, some of the word bubbles are placed . . . horribly. (Comments are confusing because many are signed in as GUARDIANSTAR. I wonder if this is an error or some kind of default/anonymous account.)

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

I also enjoyed it. The idea for the story is pretty interesting, and although it does need some work (I was expecting just a little more), it holds great potential. Keep it up! P.S.: I'm signed too as GuardianStar... what's the deal? xD

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

I really enjoyed it. The story was quite interesting. The art was pretty good as well, but it can be improved upon. I would definitely continue reading it.

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

Art & story were both great!! My only complaint is the characters.. it was really really hard to "identify" with any of them (probably bc they all appear to be in their 20's to 30's) & they themselves weren't that interesting. The rest was ok though. I can't say that I would buy this if it were in print, but if you decided to continue it, I would definitely give it a try. That's my opinion =D

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

Wow, this is a good manga, it seems rather hilarious and serious at the same time- good artwork as well. It might need a little more work since I got confused partway through it though. Btw, I'm Ryaven, not Guardianstar...don't know who that is >..>

08.22.2008 12:00 AM

One Word: AAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWSsssssssoooooooooomemeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

08.21.2008 12:00 AM

Whoa!!!!! this is AWSOME I'd lov to read more. wicked good Idea if it were in stores I'd buy it!

08.20.2008 12:00 AM

great stuff.

08.19.2008 12:00 AM

This was outstanding! What a terrific idea! The art was excellent as well. I'm just disappointed that we may only see this one issue, as the concept offers a lot of strong possibilities for future stories.

08.18.2008 12:00 AM

Awesome, very nice. Reminds me of Pet Shop of Horrors in it's future episodic nature. :) Good luck to all us pilot creators!

08.18.2008 12:00 AM

WOW! What a terrific book! I'd love to read more issues of this - there are a lot of great possibilities in this concept.

08.18.2008 12:00 AM

nice art, although it's a little boring (character designs anyway.)

08.17.2008 12:00 AM

I love the art for this story but I also like the idea behind this manga and would love to read more and hope that the rest will be published!! Keep up the excellent work.

08.17.2008 12:00 AM

dude, this looks freakin' amazing!!! It looks like it could be sold out in stores already!! I admire you deeply :) Anyway, cool stuff!~

08.15.2008 12:00 AM

Good stuff! A really great idea that left me looking forward to the next one.

08.15.2008 12:00 AM

I looove this manga, it seems to have a great story up ahead...I WANT MORE DUDE!!!

08.15.2008 12:00 AM

Eh, the storyline sounds pretty interesting, and I like the art, so it's got a good rating from me!

08.15.2008 12:00 AM

I really like the plot of the story. and the art is good. :)

08.15.2008 12:00 AM

It's got a wonderful idea behind it and I'd like to see more. Sometimes I'm not so fond of the art but overal it's pretty ok. Some of it's kind of confusing, you don't know what's going on but the story is playing out as if the creator has already told you. Even with the confusion some parts are pretty predictable. I can't say I would bye the book if I saw it at this point, but I would read it if I got the chance (for free).

PILOT SYNOPSIS
Ronald Drake is the worst TV weatherman the city has ever known. Ronald has become a figure of public ridicule. All Ronald asks for is some respect. When an enchanted drinks coaster transports Ronald to the God Shop he is given the chance to earn what he values most.

Given the power of the Norse god Thor, Ronald returns to the city and decides to put that power to use. Meanwhile events are being manipulated by a shadowy figure who sees Ronald as his opportunity to gain entrance to the mythical God Shop and steal its power.

THE WEATHERMAN - RONALD DRAKE
Ronald Drake is simply the worst TV weather forecaster the city can remember, Everything he says is wrong. He has become a laughing stock among his bosses and colleagues and an object of derision on the streets. Disillusioned and alone, all he wants from people is respect, but it doesn’t look like he will ever get any.

THE SHOP KEEPER – JOSHUA GRUBB
When we first meet Joshua Grubb he is well established as the owner/operator of THE GOD SHOP, or at least he thinks he is. In fact the departed Gods see him as more as a Caretaker of their powers, allowed to loan them out to ensure they don’t go dormant through lack of use. For Joshua wasn’t chosen entirely at random, in fact he is “The Fixer,” and plays an essential role in the maintenance of order throughout The Universe. As the story progresses Joshua will see people and events that will trigger some of his memories as he gradually begins to understand his abilities and his role in the battle against Chaos.

THE BAD GUY – ZILKER IX aka “ZiX”
This dude is nothing but trouble. But really, that’s to be expected. ZiX was born the son of the God of Mischief and since the Gods first discovered that their powers were on the wane and had discussed the idea of some sort of depository for them, ZiX had been given the distinct impression (if not an out-right promise) that he would be given the job of managing it. Now to ZiX the idea of having access to the ultimate source of God like power in the Universe was a delight to savor. It’s just a shame that the rest of the Gods didn’t agree with him or his father and gave the job to some stupid mortal instead. A fact that ZiX is less than happy about.

THE NARRATOR – HERMES
The Messenger Of The Gods – has been “left behind” by the higher deities to keep an eye on The God Shop. Hermes acts as the series “host/narrator” often breaking the fourth wall and addressing the readers.

Artist: Kamui
Born Josue Acevedo Santos in Puerto Rico, Kamui’s interest in art started when he was 6 years old making random drawings for school bullies in order to survive through first grade. Being influenced by western comics he started to take things seriously and began writing stories for himself, based on the most noticeable heroes of the 80’s.

By the time he was 12, Kamui started experimenting with the eastern art known as Manga, he was fascinated with the big sparkly eyes, spiky hair and action sequences that defined the style. While in his high school years he became obsessed with that art and started reading books about it, self educating and practicing the art in the hopes of becoming a real manga-ka in the future.

In 2006 Kamui completed a Bachelor’s degree in fine arts at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR). By now Kamui considers himself a one man army; his art range includes: penciling, inking, toning, lettering, coloring and sometimes writing his own stories. His most recent works are Angelic Nero which reached finalist in the Rising Stars of Manga competition 2008 and God Shop, an online TOKYOPOP manga written by Alan J Porter.

Currently Kamui’s working on some new projects inside a cave in the remote darkness of the Island…without knowing when the sun sets or rise. He’s just focused on the inevitable arrival of the next deadline.

WELCOME TO THE GOD SHOP!

Imagine that you could “rent” the powers of a god for a day, what powers would you want and what would you do with them? Would you use them for the good of others or to make your own life better?

Well far away at the edge of the universe is a special store that let’s you do just that – rent the powers of the gods – THE GOD SHOP.

All you need to do is find the special “token” that lies somewhere on your world. Once you find it you will be transported to THE GOD SHOP and asked a simple question. Depending on your answer you will be allowed to enter through one of two doors. No matter which door you pass through, you will be given the powers of a GOD, but be careful what you wish for and how you answer that question.

And of course there are rules to follow – there are always rules – especially when it comes to something like messing around with divine powers. Break those rules at your peril…
