for as long as i can remember, i've always wanted to be able to draw my own manga and characters in unique poses and whatnot, but it's so hard! and i'm horrible!
i've seen some of the amazing work here on Tokyopop, and i was wondering if any of you have any tips for drawing manga.
when i draw manga, i don't really know where to start, and i find drawing even the basic shapes hard, for example, the head... that gives me a tough time, legs do too! :P
and also are chibi characters easier to draw?
people do have personal/unique styles to how they draw their characters, right?
ughh proportions are so hard!! HELP ME!?!?

Take with you a sketch book, to every place you go all the time(except when you take a bath, hehe) and draw every day. Keep practice ^ ^

is sounds lame but practice is the best way. Basically just keep doing it and eventually you'll get better. It helps to try copying pictures from published manga.

I would start with a life drawing class, or a figure drawing class. (even though I learned from a learn how to draw manga book.) For poses, and clothing I'd suggest catalogs and magazines. I'm still working on proportions myself. I hope this helps.
