Outside the orange sun cast its warm shadow, she could still hear the blasting music from inside the cabin. Lyin’s friend’s friend was having a huge party for the last day of summer. It was out in the middle of nowhere in his uncle’s cabin. She didn’t want to go, bad things always happen in those teenage bashes out in the middle of nowhere. People were already getting drunk, couples were already getting busy, smoke had gotten thick in the air. How could San want to go to one of these stupid parties?! Lyin thought she was better than that. But no, she thought it would be fun, she thought that they needed to become more socialable. What could she do? Lyin winced as she tried to walk farther out into the forest surrounding the cabin. She could still hear the party even from there. It was quite disappointing to her that such a beautiful place would be the spot for something so stupid. She never was able to grasp the fun of a party. Just sit there and listen to music, how could anyone enjoy that for an entire night!? The forest seemed annoyed with the music too. She couldn’t see or hear anything that would give her a break from it all. She hated this party. “That’s it,” she sighed to herself, “I don’t want to be here, I’m leaving.” She turned back to the cabin and walked off to find her friend. She had, had it. “San!” Lyin called above the music. It was, of course, no use. Everyone was laughing, screaming, dancing, eating, smoking, talking, sitting, and doing who knows what. The house didn’t even seem like a house anymore. It looked like some rave center with an insane college dorm twist. “SAN!!” The music was deafening, smoke burned her eyes, and she could smell beer or some other alchohol. Lyin wanted to leave. She growled and charged down the hall filled with laid back idiots drinking away without a care in the world. The living room was barely visible underneath the impossible amount of people. San, Lyin’s friend, was sitting by the couch drinking what hopefully was soda. Lyin sighed then cried over, “Are you tired?!” San looked up, her long red curly hair covering part of her petite face. She had an apathetic look to her, almost as if she was sick of this stupid party too. “No!” she replied, “I’m just getting started!! Yeah!!” she threw her fist majestically in the air. Lyin stared at her with disbelief, “You’re not?! You’re not tired??!!” She shrugged carelessly, “No? Why? Are you?” Lyin stood blankly next to her. She wasn’t doing anything, she was sitting down, drinking soda, not talking, looking tired. How was she not tired?! “No…” Lyin looked back down smiling, “No, I’m not tired.” She didn’t want to impose on her friend. San was really excited about this party, she didn’t want to ruin it for her. “Yo San!!” a guy with a deep voice called. “Yo!” San stood up and looked past Lyin. “We’re gonna get some more drinks! Wanna come?!” Lyin turned to see one of the friends of the host. Of course he ignored the friend of the friend of the host… “I dunno…” Lyin looked back at her with a blank expression but annoyed. It wasn’t like San was going to do anything. “I wanna stay here and party!! Take Lyin!” “Wah? Aw man! Who’s Lyin?!” Lyin glared at him with piercing brown eyes. San laughed, “Here! She’s right here! Go on!” She pushed her over to the guy. He was a muscular football player looking guy with very short hair. He had a reasonable tan with dark hair and eyes. An interpretation in Lyin’s eyes, he looked like a complete sporty idiot. He scratched the back of his neck, “I guess she can come…” “Alight!” San pushed her closer to him, “Bye Lyin!!” Close to her ear she hissed “This is your chance don’t mess it up!” Then stood up and waved cheerfully good-bye. “Come on lets go.” The guy said and he walked toward the door. Lyin glared back at San. All of her friends did say she needed a boyfriend, but that wasn’t something she wanted to worry about. Of course she did have that usual hopeful feeling that she would meet the guy of her dreams, but she never told San about it. The store was actually this old broken down looking gas station that probably didn’t even sell gas. It had taken a huge twenty minutes to get to it. “Dude! And then, and then she tripped!!” the two boys next to her burst into a hysterical laugh. They were obviously drunk. Lyin sat in the back seat of the silver SUV. The host's friend that San hope Lyin to hook up with was with his other friend at the store buying the things they needed. She had no idea why they brought these two idiots. She heard them laugh and then stumble out of the car. How will do I get out of this stupid mess?! Lyin thought over and over. San did say that it was probably going to be a sleepover. There was no way she was going to stay over night at that god forsaken place. If only, she thought, If only I could disappear, if only I had somewhere to go to… She didn’t though. A friend of San's was the one that drove them to the cabin. Lyin didn’t know any of them, and didn’t want to call or disturb anyone for a ride. If she were to call her parents it would just show how pathetic she was and her parents would never let her go to a party after that. The car started. Lyin sat up in her seat to see the two drunk idiots in the driver’s and passenger’s seat. “Are you insane?!” Lyin cried reflexively. “WOOO!!! GO GO GO!!!” one of them cried. Lyin gasped as the car lurched forward and sped onto the mountain highway. “Stop! Are you crazy!! STOP!!” she desperately tired to stop them. “FASTER, FASTER, FASTER MAN FASTER!!! WOOO!!” The car swung left and right as it sped down the curved highway. Lyin looked out the window in horror to see that only a thin metal barrier blocked them from what looked like a sheer drop down the mountain. “Dude!! Check me out!! I’m tearin the highway!!” A horn suddenly blared, “LOOK OUT MAN!! DODGE, DODGE, GET OUTTA THE WAY!!!” Lyin shrunk herself into a tight ball holding desperately on to her seatbelt. The car launched to the right and she heard a burst of metal and the car rocked vigorously. Suddenly the feeling of falling overcame Lyin as the car flew off the road and down the mountain side. Lyin didn’t even realize when the car began to roll, be pierced by rocks, and even be torn in half because of a sturdy tree. She could think, she couldn’t feel, she was dead.
