After ninja school Peridot and Jade went to go hang out in the woods behind their house. “You know Peridot, you should just tell her you like her.” Peridot got a bit pink; “I could say the same to you about Kino!” Jade got extremely red. She was so embarrassed, “That’s different! I know for a fact that Mel likes you, too!” Peridot looked at her, “What!?! How do you know?” Jade smirked, “HELLO! She pretty much blushes every time you look at her, Mr. Clueless!”  He blushed. He hadn’t realized some thing so obvious. “You know I’m going to find out if Kino likes you just so I’ll have a come back for that.” They both laughed and started a conversation about how awesome being ninjas would be.

            “Czarus, you should be happy you got Shika and Lan! At least you know them!” Czarus had been complaining the whole way home about his team. He just wasn’t too interested. “I got Yao and Crimson! I never talk to them!” Czarus could tell Topaz must be really upset or else she wouldn’t be yelling like she was. “Okay, okay. I admit I was more lucky than you but I’m still not that satisfied.” Topaz smiled, “You don’t have to love Shika you just have to be her partner. Who knows? Maybe you’ll fall in love with someone on another team.” Czarus scoffed, “I’m not on a team to find love. Being a ninja is about going on missions and helping people.” “Whatever. Just don’t give up hope.”

            When Sakura and Sasuke found out there children’s teams they couldn’t be happier. “Don’t be upset Topaz,” Sasuke said, “me and Sakura didn’t think much of Naruto being on our team but look at him now. Who knows? Maybe you have the next Hokage on your team.” Topaz smiled, “I never really thought of it that way.”

            The next day was school. “Kid’s we have a new seating arrangement find your cards with your name one them and sit in that seat. Jade looked around She saw Peridots card, her on one side and Mel on the other. “Now’s your chance.” Jade giggled pointing at the card. “I could say the same.” Peridot was pointing to the other side of Jades card, Kino’s card. Jade got really red, “You know Jade, your skin is really pale. If you don’t learn to control your blushing someone might mistake you for a tomato.” This made Jade more red and she punched Peridot in the arm, “Shut-up. He doesn’t even like me…unlike Mel!” Peridot smirked, “Oh, we’ll just see about that.” ‘Oh great! What is he up to!’ Jade thought.

            Czarus looked around, found his card, and sat down. ‘I wonder who I sit next to.’ He looked at the cards next to him. Opal on one side and Ruby on the other. ‘Hmmmm…Opal and Ruby. Oh yeah! Ruby is the snob and Opal is the cute girl with the snow-white hair with little specks of every color of the rainbow and the glasses and…’ He stopped. He couldn’t believe he was thinking such a thing! He tried to find Topaz who he saw sitting next to Crimson and on her other side Link. She was probably miserable.

            ‘Is it normal to feel so…scared sitting next to someone?’ she thought. Just sitting next to Crimson was making her feel scared. He was smarter than her. And if she needed help she wasn’t sure if he’d help her. ‘Man I wish I was sitting next to Czarus.’

            Class was pretty boring, but soon enough lunch and recess!

“Guys I’m totally excited about the ninja thing!” Peridot was talking with Wen and Kino. “Your just happy because you’re on my sister’s team.” Kino always made fun of Peridot’s crush on Mel, “But, yeah. I’m totally excited too! I can’t wait to go on a mission!” Peridot’s turn, “You just want to go on a mission so you could be alone with my sister.” He was setting this up all along to find out if Kino liked his sister. Kino blushed, “No.” BING BING BING! “I was totally right! You DO like her!” Kino got redder, “Look dude don’t tell!” Peridot didn’t think he just said it, “Well, what’s the fun if I can’t rub it in her face!?” Kino’s eyes bugged out, “WHAT!?!” Once again Peridot just couldn’t keep his mouth shut, “Well, she’s been bugging me about how Mel likes me so I have to ask her out. I didn’t know if you liked her so I couldn’t really use the same thing so now I know and I can annoy her.” Uh-oh. “WHAT!?!?!?!” Kino was shocked. Jade liked him! Peridot finally realized what he did, “Uh-oh. Kinda wasn’t supposed to tell you that….” Wen just laughed, “Dude! This is like a soap opera or something!” Kino blushed a bit, “Well, what do I do!” “I don’t know!” Kino thought for a bit, “You know, you should ask out Mel.” “WHAT!!” That was a strange solution to Kino’s problem. “If you ask out Mel then Jade will ask out me and I won’t have to worry about it.” Peridot thought, “Well, fine. I’ll ask her out tomorrow after we meet our sensei. Okay! But if she doesn’t ask you out a day after me and Mel’s date then you ask her.” “Deal.” Then they shook on it.

            “JADE!!! Oh My GOSH!” Jade had just told Ming Ming and Shika about her little crush. “I don’t get it. What do you like about him?” She thought a little bit, “He’s really cute okay!?! Also he’s really nice and funny.” Shika looked at her, “Hehe, you just like his dark brown hair and his byakugun eyes!” Jade punched Shika in the shoulder, “That’s…. part of it.”

            “Guys I can’t believe my team! I don’t know any of them!” Topaz just had to complain to everybody before she was satisfied. “You should give them a chance. Like you said, you don’t even know them. Maybe you’ll fall in Looooove with one of them!” Mel was being silly. Topaz decided to get her back for that one, “Well, you already fell for one of your team mates, my brother of all people.” Mel blushed. She might have blonde hair like her dad but she adopted the blushing reaction from her mom.

            Czarus knew he shouldn’t have told his friends about his strange thoughts about Opal. “Dude, girls can be so annoying.” Chouji didn’t want his friend to get girl obsessed.  “Don’t even kid me, dude. I know you like Anya.”  Chouji was good at controlling his blush so he didn’t give it away, “Give me a break. Girls are such a drag.”

            School was over but Jade and Peridot had detention after school because they got in a fight with 2 other kids. “Mom is going to be so mad at me.” Jade was supposed to be controlling her temper. “Yeah, at me too.” It was hard to seem so depressed with his little plan on his mind. “I just want to go home.” This was the only part of fights that Jade didn’t like, the detention.

            “You got in another fight!?!” Sakura didn’t like when her kids got in fights. “I’m sorry it’s just that these two kids were making fun of Topaz and even though I could’ve taken them by my self Peridot rushed in.” Sakura let out a big breath, “Everytime someone makes fun of your sister you don’t have to beat them up.” Jade looked at her mom, “Then what do you do!” “You could tell them to stop.” Jade sighed, “I guess I could do that.” With that Jade and Peridot went to their rooms.

            Today the kids would meet their sensei.  “ Team one I am Chi Sensei.” Group one looked at their Sensei. Chi Sensei had long brown hair and brown eyes. “Introduce your selves.” She ordered. “Uchiha Peridot.” “I’m Hyuga Ijen.” “Uzumaki Mel.” Chi Sensei smiled. She had the Hokage’s daughter in his group. They pretty much just worked on teamwork. Team 2 had Chen. He had black hair and brown eyes. Team 3 had Minima. She had short purple hair and purple eyes. Team 4 had Jenco. He had blonde hair that was pretty long for a boy. Team 5 had Rouf. He had short green hair. Team 6 had Lia. She had blue hair so short and spiky you could mistake her for a man. Team 7 had Nobo. He had a long mane of black hair. Team 8 had Rondo. He had short orange hair. Team 9 had Lin. She had red hair down to her knees. Team 10 had Gir. He had light green hair.

            It was after practice and Peridot had to work up the courage to ask out Mel. “Um…Mel?” She looked at him and blushed, “Uh, yeah.” This was just too hard, “Never mind.” Mel looked disappointed, “Oh, ok.” She started walking off, “Wait! Mel!” She turned around and smiled, “Did you change your mind?” He caught up to her, “Would…will…um…do you want to go to the movies or something with me on Friday?” Peridot was blushing a bit and Mel was blushing a lot, “S-sure. That would be great.” Peridot just smiled and went to find his sister.                                                  

            Jade jumped from the trees, “I saw the whole thing! Good for you Peridot!” Peridot blushed a bit and then smiled and evil smile, “Now that I asked Mel out you have to ask Kino out.” Jade shook her head, “No can do. Now that your going out with her she’s practically my sister and that means he’s practicly my brother. I can’t date my brother.”  Jade walked away leaving Peridot standing by him self, ‘What have I done.’

            Kino jumped from the trees, “Dude, how did this happen?” Peridot was just as confused as he was, then he smiled “If she’s not going to ask you out you have to ask her out! It was part of the deal.” Kino blushed a bit, “Oh, great.”
